Franz discussed the upcoming consideration and vote by the
5-member Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission on the proposed
Cedar Rapids casino.

He made it pretty clear that a Cedar Rapids casino would have a signficant negative impact on the Riverside Casino.
Franz said the
Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission will meet on March 6th to hear presentations on the two market studies they commisioned last fall. On April 3rd the Commission will tour the proposed Cedar Rapids site and hear public comment. On April 17th, the Commission will make its decision on the proposed Cedar Rapids casino.
Franz invited any interested businesses, non-profits, or individuals to write or e-mail directly to the
Commissioners with their input about the proposed Cedar Rapids casino.
