It was a pleasure to have District Governor Elect, Mike Ruby and his wife Jo Anne from the Muscatine club attend our meeting last week. DGE Ruby was making the rounds to clubs in anticipation of his year at District Governor in 2017-18.

After pulling out a buck from his wallet, DGE Mike Ruby got a chance to address the club and gave some inspiring words about Rotary and training opportunities for emerging club leaders.
DGE Mike Ruby also encouraged Rotarians to attend the Rotary International Convention in Atlanta, June 10-14, 2017, or next year in Toronto, Ontario from June 24-27, 2018.

Becky Patterson's brother and his wife were visiting from Chapel Hill, SC and stopped by for a make-up meeting.
Club President, Cheryl Kurtz accepted a banner from the Chapel Hill East Rotary Club. She also presented a Washington Rotary banner in return.

Thanks to Kyle Schindler and Owen Horak for reporting back to the club on their week-long RYLA experience at Grinnell College in July. They told us it was a transformational experience.
