DG John Ockenfels visits Washington

It was a treat to hear District 6000 District Governor, John Ockenfels of Iowa City address our club on Thursday. Ockenfels met earlier in the day with the club officers. He emphasized the accomplishments of Rotary International in combating polio worldwide, growing the Rotary Foundation, and the many ways that Rotarians can make a difference in our communities.

Great crowd on Thursday. Even Larry Fishback was on hand to listen to the DG!

After Rotary - WHS Water Wall Presentation

Representatives from the Rotary Club of Washington were proud to present a check for $5,000 to the Washington Community School District for the “water wall” installed in the garden atrium of the Washington High School on Thursday, September 18. The garden area is a work in progress that still needs more community support and donations, but the water wall is a tranquil and relaxing addition to the school.
